The Mazda MX-5 Roadster

The Mazda MX-5 is a great concept with its Superlight design coming from the German designers. It drives down with pure and delightful speed and is part of a wonderful concept. It will be shown in the Frankfurt motor show with very limited changes being done from its original version.

Its windshield is no more here though and that does not make it possible to be on US roads anymore. The exterior handles have also changed with the new big trick on customization.

The Mazda still has some of its usual technical details and there are not going to be much of changes anyway. It new name means it is “superlight” and thus its aluminum body carries it with great lightness. There is also magnesium used in its outward body structure. The cockpit however shows rather exposed in the new version. Its lightweight makes the engine’s job pretty much easier.

The production mix has not been particularly simple but it is more of stripping away of the external weight than the outward body. There are all those natty details that would not bug you anymore. The fuel economy is also big with most cars of 2009 and this Mazda is no exception either.
