Recall Announced For Latest BMW 5-Series

The 2011 BMW 5-series is one of the most recent and highly famous models of BMW and the master of luxury cars ‘BMW’ has announced that they are recalling 12,400 models of the latest BMW 5 series. The recall has been announced because of the defective fuel tank problem that has been reported shortly after the release of this model.

According to reports the company is going to recall 6,400 cars in the US and almost 5,000 to 6,000 models are going to be recalled in China. The actual problem that has been reported is that a faulty fuel level can get stuck with the tank and then it inaccurately reads the amount of gas available for consumption.

In a statement the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that “The vehicle’s fuel-level sensor within the fuel tank can become wedges against the tank” and further “If this occurs, the fuel gauge in the instrument cluster would display a larger amount of fuel than was actually in the tank. As a result, if the tank became empty, the vehicle could stall, increasing the risk of a crash”.

BMW has still not announced the dates when they’ll start their recall and what actually will be the change that they will bring to handle this situation. But the news of recall is good because it has given the users a satisfaction that this problem will be resolved soon.
