Honda to Introduce New Fit Hybrid with Sport Hybrid i-DCD Technology
Constant improvement is something that consumers expect from top automakers like Honda and therefore the Japanese automaker is ensuring that they live up to the expectations of their consumers. Honda is already aware of the tremendous success of Honda Fit hatchback and therefore this year Honda is coming up with Honda Fit Hybrid model that will have better technology and fuel efficiency that consumers can enjoy. The all new 2014 Honda Fit Hybrid model will now have Sport Hybrid Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive that will offer better fuel economy to the consumers.
During the announcement, Honda Motor Co Ltd said that they have managed to get the fuel economy of 36.4 kmpl on the all new Honda Fit Hybrid which is the highest fuel economy in Japan when compared with other hybrid cars. Honda is all set to release the new Hybrid version in September 2013 considering the amount of popularity it has. The automaker said that they are glad that they were able to fit the new engine technology to Honda Fit Hybrid that offers lightweight and compact one motor system that is suitable for small cars. Honda said that although this is just one motor hybrid the system realizes the EV drive by disengaging the engine and motor.
The all new hybrid technology that Honda has come up with is also a part of the Earth Dreams Technology that includes Honda’s new generation powertrain that offers comfortable driving experience and excellent fuel economy. The new 2014 Honda Fit Hybrid will be powered by inline four cylinder 1.5 liter Atkinson cycle engine combined with Sport Hybrid i-DCD that mates with seven speed dual clutch transmission and IPU that is connected to the battery. The car also gets electric servo brake system that increases electrical regenerative efficiency and improves the fuel economy of the vehicle by 35% compared to the current IMA hybrid system.
