From 458 Italia To M458-T, Ferrari Has Done it Again

The long-awaited car is finally here. Ferrari 458 Italia is a well-known performance benchmark worldwide and with a twin-turbo makeover, it’s ready to set records once again. After five years in production, it’s time for a new Alpha Horse. The Prancing Horse’s new ride is expected to be unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

UK’s CAR Magazine has announced that Prancing Horse’s brand new, gallant car will be launched as the M458-T. This name certainly contradicts with Ferrari’s conventional nomenclature but this exclusive car deserves one of a kind name.

The re-engineered 458 will be powered by a twin turbocharged V8 engine and is anticipated to produce approximately 679 horsepower, that surpasses the much celebrated 458 by a whopping 100 horsepower and the latest 560 horsepower California T. And with two turbos, the M458-T will definitely set a new standard in the world of sports cars.

The added ”T” stands for turbocharged which isn’t quite accurate as the M458 is twin-turbocharged. The face-lifted model will be the second of its kind after the California T to be fitted with a twin-turbo engine.

A number of design changes are also predicted along with the twin turbo enhancement to account for the protection of turbocharges, brakes and intercoolers. Visually, the M458-T will still be having the same design with minute style changes. Enhanced air intakes, improved aerodynamics, reshaped bumpers and restyled LED lights will make it all the more appealing and would allow it to gain more torque than the Ferrari 458 Italia.

Similar to the California T, we also expect the Harman Kardon media system with Apple’s CarPlay support and a rear view parking camera. Ferrari has also distinguished the M458-T among its customers in the top niche category allowing them to choose from an array of color combinations and designed leather seats.
