BMW Brings Traditionally-Inspired 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept Car

Following its tradition, BMW is ready to pay homage to legendary BMW 3.0 CSL that is due to be unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on May 22. The 3.0 CSL Hommage concept car takes its inspiration from the 1972 BMW E9 3.0 CSL that was once known as the ‘Batmobile’ for its full aero package.

The Hommage concept has an aggressive and sharp exterior that accentuates its stunning air deflectors, eminent roof & rear spoilers and powerful wheel arches. The lower section is constructed with carbon fiber that highlights the CSL’s well-ordered lightweight design. The Hommage appears to have a rare combination of sportiness and grace as observed in the teaser image released by BMW.

But before you get impassioned by the thoughts of getting a 3.0 CSL Hommage for yourself, let’s be clear that on previous occasions at the Italian competition, BMW revealed the 2012 Zagato Coupe and 2008 BMW M1 concepts that never really went into production, albeit the cars’ popularity. There is a possibility however that the 3.0 CSL’s technological overtures will get pass the production phase on the CSL or GTS variants of the German Automaker’s regular vehicles.

The BMW concept car is set to debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este due to held at the shores of Lake Como, Italy.
