Auto Safety Technologies

The highway fatalities are one of the major problems which every country faces and the major reason for them are the weak auto security systems and careless driving. The auto developing companies have highly considered these issues in the development of their new models and some really awesome next generation auto safety technologies have been brought in front of the whole world. The latest technologies shown are quite well as they can bring some more and effective safety facilities for the drivers by preventing the death rates during accidents. In this article three very great such technologies haves been discussed.

1. Expandable Door Beams

This is a very awesome safety feature brought to the world by Mercedes Team; the company’s engineers are bringing this new concept of steel side-impact protection bars in the doors of the cars. To bring a more realistic picture to this concept the engineers have mounted an inflatable metal structure inside the door just like a regular side-impact beam.

Expandable Door Beams

A high pressure inflator pops the beam out to its size and it is also claimed that the beams are lighter than the conventional ones which ensures better performance at time of emergencies. There are some hurdles present in the deployment of this system and the main is that high-pressure inflation technology means that this technology can’t come very soon and the company is also thinking for a software that will automate all the process so there is some time in its arrival for the cars but the concept is really a good one.

2. Inflating Seat Belts

This is another very nice auto safety feature which is brought by the Ford’s engineers, basically the whole focus of this feature are the seatbelts that releases a kind of mini airbag at the time of crash and the time for opening of these belts is just 40 milliseconds which thus ensures the protection of passengers to get hit by the front screen at the time of crash.

Inflating Seat Belts

Usually it has been seen that the safety airbags of cars gets hotter but it is not the case with these belts and they also spread the crash forces over five times as much of the body area as compared to the small conventional strips. It has been notified by the company that the next generation Explorer SUV is going to get this feature and the belts will be optional but the company claims that they will provide them at such rates that people can easily get them for their cars.

3. Autonomous Brakes

This is one of the best safety features not only for the drivers but also for the pedestrians; the team of engineers at Volvo has tried to implement computer’s technology to avoid accidents. Basically in this feature, there is a forward looking camera and a radar sensor with wider field of view as compared to the previous ones, both these devices lets the computer spot the pedestrian moving from aside on to the car’s path and then alerts the driver of the expected collision thus to apply the brakes and it is really good because in most of the cases the driver is not aware of the pedestrian movement from the side. Such safety feature is really a strong need these days because the rate of accidents are rapidly increasing now days and many people have lost their lives because of that.

Autonomous Brakes

These are three really amazing next-gen auto safety features which can be expected to be coming soon in the future. These have got all the abilities to change the safety trends of car which we have now days in our cars.
