People who watched Beijing Olympics might have noticed that Volkswagen Passats was used for cycling and running competitions in some of the pace cars. Aside from placement of the product, these Passats came up with a hydrogen cell power fuel for the train built by Volkswagen at China research lab. The car was named as the Volkswagen Passat Ling Yu. A large number of these cars were brought by a unique organization known as CFCP or California Fuel Cell Partnership. This organization is working with a large number of automakers that include Nissan, Honda, Volkswagen, Toyota and Hyundai. CFCP has also been promoting research work in the field of hydrogen generation as well as filling stations. The car has been developed on Passat production platform and that’s why you can’t call it a future vehicle and you will find it in ergonomics and other controls quite similar to the other available vehicles.
