Chrysler Planning to Bring 165 Fiat Dealerships in US

Chrysler is thinking very broadly to expand its models in US and company has recently revealed its dealership plan for US. The group dealers of Chrysler who have initially get Fiat franchise are expected to get started with small franchises that will be enough for displaying the Fiat 500 minicar that is arriving at the end of this year. According to reports, Chrysler expects to initially name 165 dealers in 119 US markets to sell Fiat 500. Ralph Kisiel, a Chrysler spokesman said that the network of dealerships can expand in future when more models will bring available for the dealers. This Monday in the Detroit the company revealed its plans in front of 400 dealers and the selection of dealers was made around the country, the dealers who were having strong growth potential for the small cars in the next five years were preferred. Peter Grady, Chrysler’s vice president for network development and fleet, while talking about it said that “We have determined the areas of the country where they can succeed and grow”. North America Getting New 4-Door Fiat 500

Fiat 500 Fiat is considered to be one of the hottest brands for the Chrysler showrooms for 2010 because of the beautiful style small design and nice specifications. Ford has recently announced that it is bringing a four-door version of the 500 small cars for the North American markets and it is reported that this vehicle will hit the European markets in 2011 still the timings for the US markets has not been shown. This amazingly beautiful small car has been code named as Lo and will be classified as small minivan in Europe. The new Fiat 500 model will enhance the Fiat status as small cars especially because the design and looks have been made more enhanced. The company is also claiming that they will launch the performance version of 500 in 2012 and it will be marketed under the Abarth brand. Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne has not yet given any further details of this new model but it is expected that he will reveal the details on Wednesday when he is supposed to show the company’s 5 year plan on Wednesday so we have to wait for that time to get to know more about this amazing model.

Chrysler Bringing an Electric Version of Fiat 500 for US Market

Fiat 500 The trend of developing hybrid car is increasing at a very fast rate and every auto making company has shifted their interests towards it, Chrysler is one among them. This Monday the company has revealed that they will build an electric version of the Fiat 500 minicar to be sale in the US markets. In the Detroit auto show a prototype of that car has been shown and basically the concept uses an electric motor, advance lithium-ion battery pack and an electric vehicle control unit as well. According to Scott Kunselman, Chrysler’s senior vice president of engineering “The Fiat 500 is a small, lightweight platform perfect for integrating electric vehicle technology”, the model is schedule to hit the Chrysler’s showrooms in US later this year, wearing the Fiat badge.
