Chrysler Planning to Bring 165 Fiat Dealerships in US

Chrysler is thinking very broadly to expand its models in US and company has recently revealed its dealership plan for US. The group dealers of Chrysler who have initially get Fiat franchise are expected to get started with small franchises that will be enough for displaying the Fiat 500 minicar that is arriving at the end of this year. According to reports, Chrysler expects to initially name 165 dealers in 119 US markets to sell Fiat 500. Ralph Kisiel, a Chrysler spokesman said that the network of dealerships can expand in future when more models will bring available for the dealers. This Monday in the Detroit the company revealed its plans in front of 400 dealers and the selection of dealers was made around the country, the dealers who were having strong growth potential for the small cars in the next five years were preferred. Peter Grady, Chrysler’s vice president for network development and fleet, while talking about it said that “We have determined the areas of the country where they can succeed and grow”. Chrysler Starting the Development of Next Grand Cherokee in May

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Chrysler has announced this Tuesday that they will start building the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee in May and this will be the first Salvo in an effort to restore a product starved lineup. This announcement was made by Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne in an industry conference in New York. It was further announced that the sale of this models will start in July and according to the reports Chryslers has plans to refresh or replace the 100 percent of its lineup by the end of 2012. The grand Cherokee will thus prove to be the strongest member of the Jeep family and it will also be the first major vehicle launch for Chrysler under the guidance of Marchionne, in a statement he said that he is pushing for an “an attention to quality that is probably unprecedented in Chrysler”. Chrysler Bringing an Electric Version of Fiat 500 for US Market

Fiat 500 The trend of developing hybrid car is increasing at a very fast rate and every auto making company has shifted their interests towards it, Chrysler is one among them. This Monday the company has revealed that they will build an electric version of the Fiat 500 minicar to be sale in the US markets. In the Detroit auto show a prototype of that car has been shown and basically the concept uses an electric motor, advance lithium-ion battery pack and an electric vehicle control unit as well. Chrysler Recalling 24,177 Vehicles on the Brake issues

It has been reported this week that one of the most famous auto making company of the world Chrysler is going to recall a huge number of its vehicles on the issues of malfunctioning of brakes that might be caused by some potential defects in the brake system. North American Products are excepted of getting the Fiat dual Clutch Transmission

Ford Reports Loss as Sales Slide

The popular car maker Ford has recorded loss in the first quarter of 2009 because there was a massive slump in the car sales. Consumers across the globe are reducing their expensive purchases and hence the buying power has reduced. This has led to the reduction in the number of car sales and hence a loss for Ford. While the rivals of Ford, General motors and Chrysler are about to face bankruptcy, Ford has managed to face its financial targets. In the previous year, Fort recorded profit of $70mn during the first quarter. Now, the first quarter result for 2009 is a loss of $1.4bn. In the Europe alone, Ford recorded a loss of $550m during the quarterly while the company was making $737m profits in 2008. Revenue of Ford has gone down to $6bn from $10.2bn. Even though there was a revenue loss for Ford in the last quarter of 2008, the company was able to make profit for the year 2008. To cope up with the loss in the first quarter of 2009 and to increase car sales, Ford has announced reduction in its car prices. Also, the company has plans to reduce its debt obligations by $10.1bn.
