New inflatable Seatbelts announced by Ford
Ford has announced that its new development in the 2011 will come with a unique design and some very new and comfortable features. The main change would be the new inflatable seatbelts for the rear passenger. According to Ford this belt will secure the body parts from the car crash injuries up to five times with its support to the head, neck and chest. The main idea is to use the air bag technology with the seatbelt.
During the crash the belt will take 40 milliseconds to inflate across the passenger’s body and reduce the chances of severe injuries. The seatbelts are inflated with cold-compressed gas stored in a cylinder beneath the seats rather than the heat generated chemical reaction on the front and side air bags.
These seatbelts will be considered ideal for the infant’s security during driving and also during crashes. Ford has announced to provide the physical appearance of this seatbelt in its explorer of 2011 but they also have a plan to introduce it in the other vehicles around the whole world just because of its more comfort and safety.
