Features:

This convertible has come into being after about three and a half years of struggle by the engineers and experts. It has been developed from the prevailing IS sedan. About converting form hardtop sedan to roofless, chief engineer Junichi Furuyama said, “Transforming from sedan to convertible is very difficult.” According to him, the basic aim was to retain the body stringency and the supple feeling of this car.

The rigidity is lost to some extent, and to balance it, every component of the suspension, including springs, shocks, anti-roll bars and bushings have been softened up by the engineers. The car is fast; faster than a buyer would anticipate. It is always ready to jump forward as soon as you touch the throttle; the best thing about this whole IS line.

It is only a matter of 20 seconds when it comes to converting the car from hardtop to topless. The top section of car is made up of light aluminum in order to make the work of motors easy. It still seats 4 passengers, but the rear seats have been shifted forward by 4 inches, thus compromising the leg space and comfort. With excellent ride, this car is supple and quiet, and absolutely not mushy. Indeed, it will stand out on the road form other vehicles.
