The concerns of those who wondered whether the Lamborghini Huracan will be able to replace the Lamborghini Gallardo have been quelled with the global sales of the car rising to 3000 units in just 10 months. The Huracan sales in the US alone account for one third of the total units sold worldwide.

The sales figure is a reason for the brand to celebrate as it has not been able to achieve such peak sales since 2000. In 2008, the sales record was set at 2406 units which was declined by 2013 with just 2121 units sold.

As per the company’s COO, Alessandro Farmeschi, the reason for the boost in sales of the Huracan is their launch outreach strategy which has produced fruitful results. He further mentioned that their strategically targeted events have been successful in increasing consumers’ anticipation for the Huracan.

The Lamborghini Huracan is powered by a 610 hp 5.2 liter V10 engine enabling the car to reach to100km/h in just 3.2 seconds on its way to the top speed of 202mph. In addition, it also possesses the new automatic LDF dual clutch transmission which relays power to all four wheels making the car faster than ever.

There is no doubt, the Huracan is all set to replace the Gallardo as the brand’s best-selling vehicle. It is also speculated that the sales are likely to reach 3600 units by the end of the year marking 2014 as the best year for the company.
