Aston Martin DBX Makes Perfect Match for James Bond new Movie, Spectre
A new direction for the popular brand Aston Martin became apparent at the Geneva Motor Show held last month where the company unveiled its all-new luxury GT car concept. Described as the brand’s first ‘family friendly GT’, the Aston Martin DBX is an all-electric, all-wheel drive, with an ‘environmentally friendly’ label attached to it.
According to some experts, the launch of the Aston Martin DBX just goes to show how seriously the company is taking the arrival of Tesla Motors into the market. The luxury GT is being described as a crossover which is an amalgamation of a passenger car and an SUV, giving customers the satisfaction of visually appealing design combined with high quality performance.
The new Aston Martin DBX concept boasts an electric motor which has replaced the brand’s traditional V12 engine. The car is also equipped with drive-by-wire steering, auto-dimming smart glass and a set of bespoke driver and passenger heads-up displays.
According to the company’s chairman and CEO, Andy Palmer, the brand’s core sports car will be limited to just 7,000 units. By the end of the decade, however, the company will replace every car in the range and add three new models. Until then, customers can enjoy the spacious luxury and speed of this rather unique crossover SUV, which, as per Andy Palmer, is a challenge to the status quo.
